- Date
Most parents have their children baptized after a month while some choose 3 months when important immunizations are done. Some also choose when the child is a bit older but for most Filipino Catholics they have their child baptized not later than 1 year old. It really depends on the parent’s preference but please note that Catholic's baptism are conducted every Sunday usually after the 9:00-10:00am mass. You can arrange with the church to have a special baptism but it will be more expensive.
- Church
Most parents choose the church closest to their homes for accessibility. Once you’ve chosen a church inquire about the requirements. For St. Joseph the worker at sasa they required the ff:
- Photocopy of marriage certificate
- Photocopy of birth certificate
- GKK Information Data sheet
- Godparent
Choose your child’s godparents well. We chose those who volunteered because it means that they are willing to give gifts every Birthday and Christmas *wink* Seriously, choose friends and relatives who are willing and those you think would be good role models for your children.
- Reception
This depends on your budget. You can choose to have a simple get together with your family and the child’s godparents. You can have it at home or at a restaurant. The venue will also depend on the number of guest you want to invite
- Giveaways are optional. You may choose to only give to the godparents. We gave out personalized key chains. Usual giveaways are figurines of booties, angels and babies. Some also give edible stuffs such as candies, chocolates and cupcakes.
